(English follows) Nuestro papá, el Dr. Jesús Gerardo, siempre ha sido un papá ejemplar, amoroso y lleno de vida. Es un doctor, que le apasiona su profesión y ayuda a muchísima gente y muchas veces sin siquiera recibir honorarios. Durante estos tiempos tan difíciles para los que trabajan en el área de la salud, a pesar de que él es una persona de alto riesgo por su edad y algunas otras condiciones médicas, no quiso abandonar a su gente. El siguió desempeñando sus funciones laborales y ayudando a la gente. A pesar de todos sus cuidados, le toco la mala suerte de que lo infectaran con el covid. Ha estado hospitalizado ya un mes en México ya que ahí vive y trabaja. Afortunadamente y gracias a Dios ha mejorado notablemente. Desafortunadamente, su recuperación total será prolongada y cara ya que el sistema de salud es muy diferente en México. Necesitará mucha terapia física y equipo médico especial para tenerlo en casa. Nosotros tendremos que comprar ese equipo y pagar por las terapias, lo cual es bastante costoso. Sabemos que el virus les ha afectado a muchos y de muchísimas maneras, pero cualquier ayuda que puedan dar aquellos que si puedan, será eternamente agradecido.
Our dad, Dr. Jesus Gerardo, has always been a loving and exemplary father, full of life. He is a doctor who is very passionate about his job and who is always willing to help regardless of whether he receives compensation or not. During these very hard times for those who work in the health care system, and although he is considered high risk because of his age and other pre-existing conditions, he did not want to abandon his people. He continued doing his job and helping people. Unfortunately, and despite taking all the precautionary measures, he was infected with covid. He has been hospitalized for a month now in Mexico as that is where he resides and works. Fortunately and thank God he has made significant improvement. Unfortunately, his recovery period will be lengthy and expensive as the health care system in Mexico is very different. He will need tons of therapy and special medical equipment to be able to be at home. We will have to purchase that equipment and pay for his therapy, which can be a bit expensive. We know the virus has affected many, in many different ways, so any little bit that is within your capabilities will help, and we will be eternally grateful.
