Who's Gonna Take Care of Me? (Part One)

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Marneen Fields, an entertainment industry veteran of forty-six years. I making my feature film directorial debut with my award-winning screenplay for my SAG signatory production Who’s Gonna Take Care of Me?

Please make a donation of any size. It takes a lot of money to produce a feature film of the sensational magnitude of Who's Gonna Take Care of Me? Two years ago, a director set the budget for the movie at three to five million dollars. I changed the budget to about one million dollars by changing some locations, and I'm hoping to raise $300,000 to continue production. Part One of the film has been filmed and entered postproduction this week. The $14,500 that was raised has been exhausted. My company, Heavenly Waterfall Productions contributed the first $5,000. I need funding to complete postproduction on Part One to get distribution and co-executive producers to begin filming Part Two in 2024. Thank you to the 75 people who made a donation that saw 50 actors and crew member's work to date. Who's Gonna Take Care of Me? (Part One) has been filmed under the SAG Micro Budget Contract and has entered postproduction.

It's my beautiful mom, Ruby Marie Farris-Fields’ true, heart-wrenching, spiritual drama about her nine-year battle with unmanaged schizophrenia, homelessness, multiple cancers, including a brain lymphoma and breast cancer, and a nasty family betrayal. Ruby had miraculous salvation after missing for nine years. I was able to bring her home to safety where I cared for her singlehandedly for thirteen years before she died in 2012. Who's Gonna Take Care of Me? is one of the most extraordinary mother-daughter love stories ever told. It was my mom's and my favorite story; we told it to each other every day after she was found, and now, as I promised her, I'm seeing it brought to movie screens worldwide to touch the hearts of millions. Never wavering from my goal to help the mentally ill who are homeless and their families, because no one should have to suffer as my dear mother did.

My screenplay has won or been nominated for nine best screenplay awards since 2018. My mom helped narrate what she wanted in the script in the early 2000s. Through the years, I’ve cried and cried alone as I’ve chiseled the screenplay into the award-winning script it is today. I've known in my heart the great inspiration my mother’s story could be to millions of families suffering due to loved ones living with severe mental illness battling homelessness. It had a chance to be one of the world's favorite, heart-wrenching, mother-daughter stories ever seen on the big screen. 2024 will see me continue on with the footage that's been shot to see if I can have any success with the film.
