Our 3 year old son, Weston was just diagnosed with a Stage 4 Wilm Tumor which has spread to his lungs. He been doing chemo and will have surgery May 20 to remove the tumor and his kidney. There will be months of chemo and radiation following. In a very short amount of time he has received 2 blood transfusions as well as plasma. We are in the middle of putting together a blood drive event on June 23 at Iron Gate Car Condo in Naperville. Giving blood helps save lives. It literally saved Westons the beginning of April when we were admitted into CDH. His counts were so low, he was lethargic, he could not function. He needed blood. Lots of it. It was remarkable how quickly he perked back up after receiving much needed blood. We anticipate him needing much more going forward. As a family who appreciates the availability of blood that Weston received, we would like to raise awareness to the importance of donating blood. One donation can save up to three lives. .
We are hoping for sponsors and donations to make this blood drive an event for the whole family to come out and enjoy food and entertainment as well as touring exotic cars and sports cars including Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, and Corvettes.

All donations will go towards making this event happen (music, bouncy house, coffee and donuts, kids crafts, ice cream truck, etc....) and any remaining funds will go directly to a close Glen Ellyn family who is also has a child struggling with cancer right now and hoping for his bone marrow transplant.
