On January 24th, the Warnsing family suffered a violent home invasion and shooting at their home in Madison, WI.  

In the early morning, two men broke into their home and one quickly moved into the bedroom where Andrew, Kelli and their two young daughters were sleeping.  The man was very aggressive and when Andrew fought back to protect his family, Andrew was shot point blank through the chest.  The bullet entered the right shoulder and exited his lower back.  He suffered a collapsed lung along with badly bruised lungs, broken ribs, and nerve damage affecting the use of his right hand and arm.  Kelli was severely beaten.  Fortunately, Andrew was still able to stop the attempted rape of his wife, even after being shot.  All of this happened while their daughters, ages 2 and 4, watched and listened.  While the children were not physically harmed, they suffered severe emotional trauma that will take time and counseling to heal.

Andrew was in the hospital for a week and required multiple surgeries from the gunshot wound.   He will be out of work for at least a month.  He will need physical therapy to hopefully regain some use of his right hand and arm, from the nerve damage.  The entire family is undergoing counseling and staying in a hotel awaiting repairs on their home.  They are also having an alarm system and safe room installed, which will not be covered by their homeowner's insurance.  Medical bills, housing repairs, insurance deductibles and copayments are all adding up.  While the family focuses on healing physically and emotionally, please consider helping with these unexpected expenses.  Any help you can provide will be received with warm and thankful hearts.
