Walking 20km to Buy a Minibus For Special Needs Children

Hi everyone,

I’m taking on a 20 km walk to raise funds for an incredible cause close to my heart — supporting children with special needs in rural eastern Uganda through the Hidden People Project by New Dawn International.

Right now, we’re aiming to raise £20,000 to purchase a minibus for the centre. This vehicle will be a game-changer — enabling children to attend vital hospital appointments and access therapies that are otherwise out of reach due to transportation challenges.

Even though treatment is available, many children miss out simply because they can’t get there.

This inspiring centre is a safe haven for children living with conditions such as autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and hydrocephalus. In many communities, these children are often kept hidden due to stigma and lack of support. The Hidden People Project is working to change that — by raising awareness, empowering families, and helping these children live full, joyful lives.

This minibus will be more than just transport — it will be a lifeline. It will help ensure children receive timely care, stay on track with their development, and feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
