On Saturday 12 September, we will once again come together for Walk for Archie — walking in memory of our beautiful little boy, Archie, while raising vital awareness of sepsis.

Archie passed away on his first birthday, 23 August 2022, after developing sepsis from a Group A Streptococcus infection.

What makes Archie’s story even harder to accept is that there were opportunities for his deterioration to be recognised earlier. A review into his care identified eight missed opportunities, and found that had his critical illness been recognised and treated earlier, his outcome may have been very different.

Since losing Archie, we have made it our mission to make sure his story creates change.

Walk for Archie started in 2023 with around 150 people walking beside us. It has since grown into something bigger than we ever imagined, with hundreds of people coming together each year to remember Archie, raise awareness and start conversations about sepsis.

This year, funds raised through Walk for Archie will support Is It Sepsis?, an organisation dedicated to increasing sepsis awareness and helping families recognise the signs before it is too late.

Our hope is simple: that by sharing Archie’s story, more people will know to ask:

“Could it be sepsis?”

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us continue spreading this message and honouring our beautiful little lion man.
