With a broken heart, on behalf of the Hessley family, we would like to share that on Friday, July 3rd, 2020, our beautiful sister, Lynn, was a pedestrian victim of a hit and run accident in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After emergency brain surgery that evening, Lynn is currently on life support in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center in Fort Lauderdale. Lynn's injuries are extensive including; brain injuries and multiple major fractures, which will require a very lengthy hospital stay, multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation. Even though she is one of the strongest women we all know, the road to recovery will be long, challenging and costly.
Lynn is currently holding her own while on life support and we are celebrating the little victories that we can along this long, scary and heartbreaking journey. Lynn successfully making it through the first 24 hours was crucial. Lynn has a team of INCREDIBLE trauma doctors and nurses giving her around the clock care, for which we couldn't be more grateful.
Due to current circumstances with COVID, especially in Florida, we have not been able to get in to see Lynn at this time as the hospital is closed to visitors. This makes this journey that much more challenging for her family, friends and loved ones. We know so many of you want to help, send love and support, and provide assistance in any way you can. We welcome cards and messages for her recovery as well as donations, if that is in your heart.
Lynn is a fighter. She will make it through this. We know in our hearts that our Dad is with her, protecting her, comforting her, holding her hand and letting her know we love her and stand with her every day.
We will use this platform to keep her loved ones near and far updated on her condition and progress. On behalf of the Hessley Family; Mom, Jennifer and I, thank you in advance for all your support and love!
