My name is Tom.

For the past three and a half years, I’ve been fighting a battle no parent should ever have to face, a battle just to see my kids. What should be simple, natural, and unconditional has instead become a long, exhausting journey through a system that often feels cold, overwhelming, and deeply unfair.

This experience has changed me. It’s taken me to some of the darkest places I’ve ever known mentally, emotionally, and financially. And along the way, I realised something heartbreaking… I am far from alone.

There are so many fathers out there walking this same path. Good men. Loving dads. Men who are doing everything they can to stay connected to their children, while navigating systems and situations that can leave them feeling powerless, isolated, and broken.

That’s why I’m creating DADSTRONG.

DADSTRONG is more than just a movement, it’s a lifeline. A community built to support, uplift, and stand beside fathers who are struggling to be present in their children’s lives. It’s about reminding these men that they are not alone, that their role matters, and that their fight is seen.

As part of this mission, we are also raising funds for men’s mental health because behind every legal battle is a man carrying a weight most people never see.

Throughout the month of June, we’re calling on people to move with purpose. Whether it’s walking or running 5km, this challenge is about showing up not just for yourself, but for every father who is fighting silently. During the month of June and especially Men’s Mental Health Week (June 5th–9th), we’re encouraging everyone to share their journey, post their 5km, tag #dadstrong, and nominate friends to get involved and keep the movement going.

This isn’t about fitness, it’s about awareness, connection, and reminding men that they don’t have to do this alone.

The funds raised will go directly toward helping fathers in real, tangible ways, putting food on the table, keeping a roof over their heads, supporting their mental wellbeing, and easing the financial burden of legal fees that often stand between them and their children.

Every contribution, every step, every share matters.

Because every child deserves their dad.

And every dad deserves a fair chance to be one.
