Volunteers Cleaning Communities - VCC

My name is Jill Mather, president and organizer for Volunteers Cleaning Communities (VCC). We are a community-based organization focused on helping make the world around us a better, cleaner, environmentally friendly, litter-free place.

VCC has made a five year commitment to clean both the east and west bound sides of the 118 freeway between Tampa Avenue and Balboa Boulevard. In addition we have cleanups that include sections of the Sepulveda Wildlife Refuge area and the Los Angeles River.

Did you know that we buy the safety vests, grabbers, gloves and pay dump site fees?

We have a program called Adopt1Street where individuals can adopt a block and keep it clean - then we notify the city of how many community members are assisting in the beautification of their community.

This past year has given us the good fortune to be chosen as "California Non-Profit of the Year 2022".

We know that not everyone is able to pick up trash or has time to join a cleanup event. But without volunteers we could not exist. So in some small way we are asking for your help, any donation in any amount will be appreciated and used to empower, equip and educate our volunteers and the San Fernando Valley community.
