Please help the Winter Family

Last Thursday, 3/30/2022, Collin suffered an aneurysm behind his right eye while on a work trip in Oklahoma. He was initially taken to a hospital in Miami, OK and then life-flighted to Tulsa, OK, where he underwent emergency surgery on April 1st. His brain surgery was successful, and now we focus on Collin’s recovery.

He’s doing better each day and in the best hands at Ascension St. John’s in Tulsa. As of today, doctors have advised a couple of weeks in the ICU and then another week under observation before they can begin conversations about coming home. Currently, there are more questions than answers, such as whether he will regain vision in his eye as well as possible side effects from his aneurysm. Collin has a long road of recovery ahead. This fund will ease the burden of current and future expenses such as medical, transportation, and day-to-day living, all while navigating the new and uneasy waters of being so far from home.

Collin and his family are amazing friends who help others in need, and this time it is their turn to receive help. This GoFundMe account will help ease the burden of accumulating expenses while Collin, Dawn, and their daughters, Kate and Kylie, focus on Collin’s recovery and getting through each day. The Winter’s have been members of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona, Iowa since 2009, and their faith in God is guiding them each and every day.

Prior to the recent medical events, you could find the Winter family at softball tournaments throughout the Midwest on the weekends, avidly cheering on Iowa State University sports and spending time with family and friends!

Collin has been working at TMC Transportation for 20+ Years, and the out-pouring support from his work family has been incredible. The family appreciates all your prayers and well-wishes.

We were fortunate to spend some time with Collin at the hospital this weekend. He is in good spirits and, as usual, finds a way to make people smile, laugh, and feel welcome.
