Help rebuild Siargao
Donation protected
On December 16, 2021 Category 5 Typhoon Odette made landfall in Siargao. Homes destroyed, livelihood stopped, and at least 80 percent of the homes flattened. This once beautiful gem of the Philippines have become unrecognizable. There is still no electricity, therefore no drinking water. People are still living on the side of the road because their houses and their belonging have been destroyed. Still in shock, communities don't know where to begin. The devastation is overwhelming. Siargao was a thriving surfing destination in the Philippines and named the best island in Asia by Conde Nast in 2021. It is important for me to help rebuild this island because it is a huge tourist destination and have contributed to the economy of the Philippines through tourism. Tourism is a big industry in the Philippines and it's just starting to regain popularity in the international scene.
Ginger Love Cafe is a Filipino Food vendor in Massachusetts and we will be donating some of our profits from the sale of our food to the communities in Siargao. This page is an extension for those who would like to give separately or in addition. This will benefit to start One Home at a Time and Nature Kids Siargao. These foundations are slowly building the houses in their communities, feeding the kids of the island, providing clean water and employment to the locals. A little goes a long way in the Philippines, so we appreciate all of your donations. Big or small it matters because this will help the community of Siargao rebuild. Updates and transparency report will be published through our website www.gingerlovecafe413.com, so please check it out. Thank you ( maraming salamat) for your help. We appreciate it so much!
