My name is Charles Forrest, and I currently live in Brooklyn, New York, USA. I am raising funds for my mother, father, and close family who live in Big Bridge, Westmoreland, Jamaica, who were severely affected by Hurricane Melissa.

My father lost both his home and his small shop completely, and my mother’s roof was badly damaged, leaving her house partially exposed. Their community in Big Bridge, Westmoreland still has no electricity, and they urgently need food, clean water, and help to rebuild and repair their homes. I am their son, and I am organizing this fundraiser on their behalf because they are in Jamaica and I am in the United States.

All funds from this GoFundMe will be withdrawn into my bank account in New York and then sent directly to my parents and immediate family in Big Bridge, Westmoreland through bank transfer/remittance or used to purchase materials and supplies for them. The money will be used for:

Food, clean drinking water, and basic household necessities

Temporary shelter and replacing essential items they lost

Repairing my mother’s damaged roof

Rebuilding my father’s home and helping him restart his shop
