Urgent Help for Trans Graduate to Flee Fascist America

My name is Holden, and I’m a transgender student trying to flee the USA to New Zealand. After the results of the 2024 election, I no longer feel safe in the USA. The Republicans' plan, Project 2025, plans to eradicate our democracy and turn this country into an autocratic dictatorship with fascist Donald Trump in charge indefinitely.

As of May 2025, rights I've already lost include:

-Gender marker changes

-Acknowledgement that trans people exist

-The ability to serve in the military

-Playing sports according to my gender

-Information on LGBTQ issues on federal websites

-The department of health is run by an anti-vaxxer who plans to track autistic Americans

-Access to LGBTQ-based suicide hotlines

-I can now be surveilled by the government because LGBTQ people are now considered a "threat."

Other rights at risk include:

- Reproductive freedom (including birth control)

- Gender-affirming care for adults (including HRT)

- Disability accommodations

- Educational freedom

-Freedom of religion

-My right to vote

-My job as a mail clerk

-My freedom of speech

I could be arrested for “promoting porn” just for being transgender, as well as being a "political enemy" because I voted against Trump.

This is an urgent call. I have since graduated from university in the US, and I need to leave ASAP as soon as I find a job.

I have connections to NZ residents after studying away there in spring 2024. I have a network of friends who can support me down there and help me assimilate.

Donations will go towards flights, paperwork, food, and just trying to get a good start.

Because of donations so far, I've been able to apply for a working holiday visa, which I've since been approved of! I still need funds for flights and basic assets.
