My name is Heaven Willis, and I recently have taken on the sole responsibility of caring for my grandmother full-time. Due to this, I was forced to quit my two full-time jobs.

I’ve been pretty hands-on with her care for the past 4-5 years as she was working to maintain her independence, so her care was partial (cooking meals, driving to and from appointments, partial bathing). But now she’s unable to walk, brush her teeth properly, or bathe. Appointment visits are now transported via ambulance, as my car isn’t big enough, and I don’t have the necessary equipment or money to support her and me comfortably. Not even check to check.

I’m asking for help as I’ve exhausted all savings and credit cards attempting to maintain what I could. I have since fallen so far behind on rent, my granny and I are now facing eviction, at risk of my car being repo’d, and once I get extra CNA and/or RN help at home, I NEED to go back to work. I wasn’t ready for this task, but I took on her care with everything I had. I have no help at the moment, and I can’t sustain this much longer. I’m drowning.
