Hello, my name is Michael Hart, this fundraiser is for my sister Angelina and her family. They are living through a nightmare no parent should ever face.

On the very first day of what was supposed to be a joyful vacation in Mexico, their sweet 4-year-old boy slipped into the pool unnoticed. His 13-year-old brother found him at the bottom — a moment that will stay with him forever. His father, a 22-year Active-Duty service member who has spent his life protecting others, immediately began CPR and fought for his son’s life for 30 long, agonizing minutes until the ambulance arrived. His courage and love kept his little boy alive.

But the ordeal didn’t stop there.

The first hospital they reached wasn’t equipped to handle a drowning this severe. He was rushed to a second hospital with an ICU, where doctors discovered water and blood in his lungs. A CT scan revealed swelling in his brain, and he is now fighting for his life.

In just 23 hours, the hospital has already charged the family $28,000, and the costs continue to rise at a terrifying pace.

The family is desperately trying to transfer him to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, where he can receive the specialized care he urgently needs. But getting him there requires air medical transport, which is extraordinarily expensive. Once he arrives, the next phase of treatment — and the next wave of medical bills — will begin.

This little boy has two brothers who adore him:

• A 2-year-old who keeps asking where his big brother is

• A 13-year-old carrying the trauma of finding him in the pool
