Urgent evacuation of anewborn baby with his family.
"What's going on?! It's terrifying!" I said to my husband, Abdulazeez, 6:15 in the morning, after hearing tens of successive, huge bombs near to my house in Beach Camp.
The seventh of October, 2023, the day on which our lives changed forever. I looked through the window to find out that people are leaving their houses in groups.
" Diana, hurry up and get dressed! We have to leave NOW!" My husband screamed, waking me up of my shock.
I started crying insanely while putting on my clothes, we headed to my parent's house, leaving behind my lovely place where I only lived for less than a year. I left my home with nothing, literally. I know I left in a tragic status, but what I could never imagine is that this is the last time I'm seeing it l. From now on, I'm HOMELESS.
Since then, I'm staying with my parents, with my husband and little boy who was still in my tummy.
On 7th, November 2023, the Israeli forces entered our neighborhood. For 4 months later, we couldn't reach there or even know a bit about what's happening there. Only one month ago, Abdulazeez could finally see our house, which was nothing but piles of bricks. We lost everything we've building for 7 years.
For days and weeks, we didn't know where to go. We moved from one shelter to another seeking safety. I remember one night when the Israeli tank was 50 meters away from us. It was the worst night of my life. In the mid of tragedy, we all stayed in one room, turned off the lights, kept totally silent so that the Israelis don't know we even existed. Otherwise, we could have been arrested, tortured, or killed immediately.
You think we survived? huh! Not this time! The real hell is just starting! A very huge bomb happened when we could feel the house shaking. It took us a few minutes to realize it was our house that was bombed.
"RUN! It's in the house. The next one will wreck the roof on our heads." My mom screamed. We ran crazing in the darkness, trying to reach our neighbour's house, but to find a wall closing the way. With my 8-month tunny, I climbed that wall to fall on the other side on my back. A severe pain started to attack my stomach. The baby is not moving!
No matter how many times I repeat that it is the most terrifying incident in my life, this one was really it.
In the early morning, the Israeli forces started to withdraw, allowing us to head to a small clinic because all hospitals were out of service. I spent 30 hours, in pain, screaming, crying out loud, with not even the minimum treatment; anesthetic. The real risk started when the Oxygen levels dropped and the baby now is unsafe. Unfortunately, there were no doctors at all. The nurse who volunteered to take over me decided to do an incision to save him.
Do you know what an incision with no anesthetic means? Yes, endless pain. I can't get that scene out of my head; the scalpel in her hand, heading to my body.
It was the last thing I felt before going into a coma for a few hours. I woke up to find my baby next to me. He is FINE! That's my boy! We did it! Till this moment while I'm writing down my story, I can't describe my feelings then. Happy, sad, in pain, I really don't know.
Before I digest the situation, AbdulJabbar, my baby, started to cry out loud asking for food. Here we go again! A new suffering to worry about. You may wonder why I wouldn't just breastfeed him? For me, I didn't eat anything nutritious for a month. For the baby, it's another story. It took us weeks before the delivery to find one infant milk tray.
The food crisis in the north was a real tragic. For the last 2 months, we've been through a true famine where infants are dying of hunger and adults are having one meal in days. A meal of nearly just carbs.
I'm writing this while I'm listening to news that's promising near truce, filled with hope that I can find even a little milk for my baby who's looking at me now adorably.
But the question stays the same, WHAT'S NEXT? NO home, no money, and no prospects. We need to start from scratch, definitely somewhere else where my baby can at least find something to eat.
We launching this campaign because we were deprived from incessities of life, We living in a reality that is harder than our ability to keep up. We are literally helpless, but still we have hope in good people who might help. I need an amount of money to get out of Gaza, me, my husband, my small baby, and my mom. I need an amount of money for evacuation from the Gaza Strip.
