Urgent Aid for Atlas' Second ACL Surgery

I'm Avrey, and as many of you know, Atlas is my soul dog. A year ago in April, Atlas tore her ACL in her right leg. Exactly a year later, April 2025, she tore the ACL in her left leg.

In March of 2025, I made a very difficult decision to take FMLA and time away from work for my mental health. With the cost of living violently rising, I was stuck having to choose between my finances and my mental health. Ultimately, I chose me. But in that time and sacrificing my finances, Atlas got hurt again. Our vet informed us that typically when one ACL goes, it's only a matter of time before the other one follows. Atlas was compensating on her left leg when the right went and then during recovery, so it only made sense that it was slowly tearing over time until it completed severed.

I was out of work from March 2025 - May 2025, and in that time, I have fallen behind on a handful of bills. I've faced my car potentially getting repossessed, I've maxed out credit cards to try and pay for other bills -- I am in a financial crisis and that's not easy to face or admit.

Atlas' original surgery date was for June 2nd, 2025, but we sadly had to move it to September 8th, 2025 so I can try and come up with the funds. Transparently, I am struggling in a way that I have not struggled before. It is not lost on me that the entire world is facing a financial crisis, and that this is a big ask. Atlas' surgery cost is between $4,800 and $5,000 depending on either TPLO or TTA, but they won't know until they are in surgery. She had TPLO on her right leg last year.

We are now going on 3 months of her unable to walk, go to the bathroom or stand to eat on her own. I have until September 8th to try and come up with this money for her, or I'll be extending the surgery date further.
