In Loving Memory of Uraia Julai Waqatairewa AKA “Pompy”

My beautiful nephew Uraia Julai Waqatairewa AKA “Pompy” sadly passed in his sleep after a bumpy recovery from a recent scoliosis surgery.

My beautiful sister & brother in law have given so much to make his short and sweet life the best it could have possibly been. He was a much loved son, brother, cousin, nephew, grandson and friend to many.

Over the last few months Loreta and Tarai have had large stints of being unable to work due to his ongoing care needs. They have been in and out of ICU following a complex surgery for his Scoliosis in April and his recovery thereafter. In reality though, this is just the tip of the iceberg to their sacrifices over the last 16 years. This brave little guy has had a raft of illnesses including scoliosis, epilepsy and low muscle tone. He has had multiple surgeries including open heart surgery, more ambulance rides that I could even begin to count, specialist care and insurmountable needs that require their 24/7 support. Despite all this he has always been the happiest, most beautiful kid who will be so missed by many.

I’ve put this page together to help with costs associated with the funeral and the hope of giving Loreta, Tarai, Sera and Mali the space to grieve during this time. Any support is deeply appreciated.
