Veronica has already endured surgery and has now begun her chemotherapy journey. She has completed her first round of chemotherapy and ordered her first month of Mitotane, paying $2,000 upfront for her starting dose.

Unfortunately, this is only the beginning. Veronica’s Mitotane dose must be gradually increased until she reaches her therapeutic level, meaning the cost of this essential medication is expected to rise as her treatment continues. At this stage, we still don’t know what the ongoing cost will be, leaving Veronica and her family facing even more uncertainty and financial stress during an already frightening time.

When we first began this fundraising journey, we set a target of $16,000, believing it would cover one year of Veronica’s treatment. Sadly, she has since learned that the cost

will be significantly higher than we originally anticipated. Having to find thousands of dollars for medication month after month is an overwhelming burden.

This medication is essential to Veronica’s ongoing treatment, and we desperately hope it will give her the best possible chance of stopping this horrible beast from returning or taking hold somewhere else in her body. Because Mitotane is not covered by Medicare, Veronica is facing an enormous financial burden on top of everything else her family is going through. No family should have to choose between accessing vital treatment and meeting their everyday needs, yet this is the heartbreaking reality they now face.

Veronica’s mum would like to thank everyone who has donated, shared her story, sent messages, and offered their love and support. Every contribution and share means more than words can express. Your kindness is helping Veronica and her family continue this incredibly difficult journey with a little less fear and a little more hope.
