Umayma (or Uma) - A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and wife.
In Uma's 33 years of life she gave the gift of art and creativity to this world through her visual art drawings, poetry, handmade pillows and so much more. She recently married her life partner and was looking forward to starting a family.
Uma fought a long battle with her health and defied the odds time and time again as a 3-time transplant recipient. She is a hero and inspiration to her entire family and to her loved ones.
On Saturday, May 7th, after experiencing several complications with her major organs, Umayma made her transition and left this physical realm.
Our family is seeking your support during this difficult time to raise money for Uma's final arrangements. This campaign will help our family to cover:
-- Arrangements (e.g. getting her home to Detroit; funeral and burial costs),
-- Roundtrip transportation of her husband and father from Texas to Detroit for the services,
-- Financial support for her husband and father who have had to leave work without pay during her recent hospitalizations,
-- Outstanding medical and alternative care costs,
-- Any additional money raised will support the publishing of Uma's book that she has written ('The Woman In the Mirror')

I am Sheba Rogers, one of Uma's eight siblings. Uma and I are three years a part and have always remained close. We grew up in Detroit, MI, where I presently live. I started this campaign based on the wishes and needs of our family. We love her deeply and wish to give her the beautiful homegoing celebration that she deserves.
