Mom's Residential Care Bills
Some of you know (and now all of you do) that my mother was diagnosed with early onset dementia and was placed in a residental care facility in late January since she was unable to care for herself or keep herself safe anymore. As you can imagine, this has been tremendously hard on her and on my family.
While Mainecare does help with the financing of her bills at the facility, tying up loose ends (like selling her car) and paying her final bills in her apartment has left her with approximately $4000 that she owes in back medical pay. The facility is expecting her to pay this by the end of the month, and may not extend futher care for her if it's not taken care of. She doesn't have anywhere else to go, as my family and I do not have the training or resources to take care of her full time.
Many of you have known and loved my mom. Maybe you have a few extra bucks in your pocket and want to help. Thanks for listening to the story and helping in any way you can-even if it's just thoughts, prayers, or good vibes. We'll take all we can get.
