As most of you know, Josh suffered heart failure on February 28th. On March 1st, he underwent open-heart surgery during which they replaced his aortic valve. While the surgery itself was successful, he had respiratory issues and was put on a ventilator twice. He must have felt he was ready to breathe on his own because he pulled the vent out on his own. Unfortunately, because of the type of valve he chose, he has to be on blood thinners for the rest of his life. But his blood pressure is still on the high side, and he's on meds for that as well. Josh was in the hospital for two weeks, out for a week, and back in for four days because we couldn't get his blood pressure to a safe place. He has to go to the doctor at least once a month for his INR, and we are up to every six months for his cardiac doctor. He actually has some more tests on his heart coming up in the middle of this month as his heart isn't 100%.
Josh was let go from his security job the day of his heart failure when he called to tell them he was in the ER suffering a heart attack. In the meantime, I tried to keep up with his bills and his child support the best I could. We went through all our savings but we just couldn't keep up. Josh was just released to go back to work in July; he went to the orientation and is now waiting for the call back to start. In the meantime, he fell behind on child support, his license was suspended, insurance was canceled, and now the car is gone. He has a chance to get it back, but he needs $1300 now. I feel like we are losing everything. I understand times are tough and everyone is going through it, but if you can find it in your heart to donate, Josh will be so appreciative. Now he's had a second chance at life. He plans on being around for his kids and watching them grow. He wants to work. He doesn't want sympathy. He's just stuck between a rock and a hard spot right now and feels this may be worth a shot. Anything given will eventually be paid forward because that's what his heart tells him. Sometimes we just need some help... Thank you in advance!
