Troy’s Medical Journey

On October 24th, 2025, Troy began having difficulties breathing and therefore, attended the Temiskaming Hospital in New Liskeard, ON. It was confirmed that Troy was having minor heart issues and was sent to Health Sciences North in Sudbury, ON.

On October 30th, 2025, Troy received an angioplasty surgery, however, during this surgery they’ve found several blockages that would require Troy to undergo a triple bypass surgery. The angioplasty procedure assisted to widen his blocked arteries to improve blood flow.

On October 31st, 2025, Troy went into cardiac arrest where he required recitation. Troy was stabilized and flown to the Toronto General Hospital.

On November 4th, 2025, Troy is undergoing surgery again this morning to put in 1-2 stents so that he’s heart could build up strength.

At this point, Troy is beyond qualifying for a pacemaker, and the possibility of him requiring a heart transplant seems likely. Specialists have been working hard on Troy’s medical needs and care.

Troy’s Life Journey

Troy was born on June 18, 1987, and grew up in Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Quebec. As a quiet boy, he loved playing video games. Troy was always open and loving, a very kind person. Despite facing many challenges and barriers in his childhood, he remained composed and calm. His infectious laugh and family-first attitude made him a beloved figure.

In 2013 Troy met his partner, Tristyn Kurkowski where a lasting friendship began and turned into a loving relationship in 2018. Troy and Tristyn relocated to Temagami, Ontario. In 2021, they welcomed their first child, Grayson, and later, in 2023, their daughter, Zoey. When Troy speaks about his children, his face lights up, and it’s clear that they are his greatest joy. Troy’s unconditional love and attentive parenting show his devotion as a father.

Troy and his partner live a simple life, ensuring their basic needs are met and bills are paid. While they don’t live a lavish lifestyle, they are wealthy in the sense of having immense love from their family and friends, as well as the love and laughter they share. Troy works hard to provide for his family, but they are facing sudden financial hardships due to his hospitalization. Both Troy and Tristyn are unable to work at this time.

We would like to thank the hospitals, medical nurses, and staff that have been assisting with ensuring that Troy has the best care possible. Although Troy has stabilized, he is still in critical condition, we are praying for a speedy recovery so Troy can return home with his partner and children but at this point, Troy’s future remains uncertain.
