Trent’s Release

Donazione protetta
Hi! My name is Leah and I am Trenton’s momma. For those who are not aware, Trenton has been confined in a county jail since April of 2020. You see, Trenton has suffered from and been diagnosed as having Manic BiPolar disorder. He was diagnosed about 6 years while he was homeless in Denver, Colorado and found completely naked walking down 16th street in the dead of winter.
We don’t know if this diagnosis is a trauma response, drug induced or genetic, but he was known to self medicate with the use of marijuana.
However, due to his menacing while manic in Denver, he served 6 months there in the county jail and was under medication. He was released but on probation so we arranged to have him get in a sober living home. We paid for his time there until he could help contribute while he finished paying off his fines and completing his probation time. He was released from his probation in the fall of 2019. He came to live with us in Texas. At this time he was self medicating with marijuana but in January of 2020, he decided he wanted a decent job so he stopped smoking in order to pass a drug test.
In late February he was able to pass. He was hired on Fort Hood as a contractor to transport soldiers as needed. He loved it! He was happy, he was enjoyable to be around, he was present.
It literally took about 10 weeks, we witnessed the change. His personality, his demeanor, the anxiety, the insomnia, the hallucinations, the extreme thoughts, the extreme spiritual awakening. It was scary and heartbreaking to watch, to be a witness, to be a victim in his mental state that he had no control over and didn’t know he was different.
Friends/soldiers of our daughters who were stationed here at Fort Hood, loved and trusted him with house sitting of their home and pets while they were called away for service in New York for covid. It was during this time his life has been interrupted by an illness that is treatable and liveable with the right medication.
He didn’t hurt anyone, his intent was never to harm anyone. His mind and conscience were not not playing nice with each other that day. However, because of a 5th degree felony in Colorado, he was found to illegally have possession of a firearm that belonged to the friends he was house sitting for. Trent while of sane and healthy mind wanted nothing to do with guns. This was out of the ordinary for him.
He has been charged with 2 felonies. His bond is $200,000. He had a court appointed lawyer who did nothing for 2.5 years for him and blamed all the delays on Covid. In April of 2022 we hired an attorney on a price tag of $40,000. My mother gave $10,000 and we are struggling to make the payments of $1000 per month to get to the $40,000 paid in full fee. We are at approximately $13,000 paid. The lawyer will not push to get him through the system until he is paid.
At this rate Trent will just continue to sit with no movement. We do have a psychological diagnosis that helps Trent’s case to have medical treatment instead of incarceration.
We are seeking donations so the lawyer can be paid. We just need the attorney fee paid. Any donation is appreciated.
