Tommy McMorrow Sr. Memorial
Tommy Sr. was a man who beat a lot of odds. His hands were made of steel, and his heart of gold. He was a mechanic by trade but could fix anything. He took pride in his work ethic and his efforts never went unnoticed. He was loyal to Amusements of America and The Five Vivona Brothers until his very last day. He believed in old school values and a hand shake with him was as good as a contract. The most important thing he ever did was raise his sons to be just as hardworking and loyal as him. After a short but serious run with cancer, he was forced to retire and pass the tools onto his son, Tommy Jr., who continues to follow in his footsteps. While many thought this would be the end of “Big Tom,” he quickly stumbled into a newfound role in being a hands on “Papa,” as his grandchildren would affectionately call him. Tommy Sr. was born again, and new life radiated through him. The light and love in his eyes when he was with his family everyday spoke volumes. For those of us who were privileged to witness it— it was truly heartwarming. You would never think the same man who fixed diesel engines with his bare hands would be able to comb his grandkids’ curly hair! Tom defied all odds and even till his last breath was loving, patient, and put his family first. He absorbed a lot of pain in his lifetime to make sure that those he loved were protected and came out unscathed. Tom never asked for much and was never a complainer, often working hours and days on end. He never gave up until the job was done. He loved everyone and often gave without receiving anything in return. For someone who gave so much and asked so little, it is from the bottom of our hearts that we ask for any donation to lay him to rest.
