To support the family of Nicole Jodi Antaw

On the 29th of December our family, friends and community lost our beautiful Nicole at the young age of 46.

Nicole was a mother to Jordynne (myself - 25), Dylan (23) and Indii (6). She was loved unconditionally by her partner, Scott and was supported by her family even from afar in Townsville.

Nicole (mum) left an enormous impact on our lives. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting her knew that her laughter was contagious, her heart was full of love and she went above and beyond to be kind and generous to anyone in need.

When I reflect on my time with my mum, the stories I’ve heard over the last few days and how much she meant to so many people, I’m reminded that my mum was funny, charismatic, kind, caring and had an absolutely beautiful soul.

Mum was in her early 20’s when her mother passed away and after experiencing the pain and loss of that, she always made it clear what her wishes would be when her time should come. We all know with certainty that she would want us all to celebrate her life and live our lives courageously in her honour.

Our mum was brave. She was constantly battling medical issues, as well as a lot of pain, and every time she got close to overcoming one illness, another would soon come along. We would give anything to still have her here, but we find some small comfort in that she no longer has to suffer or be in pain. Now she can guide us and watch over us all and by the looks of things, send us rainbows along our life’s journey.

Our mums passing is very unexpected and has caused everyone a great deal of shock. Even though she was quite often unwell, we never anticipated she would pass away and and leave this world so young.

I have made this ‘go fund me’ to assist us all in the cost of mums farewell, to assist with living expenses for Scott and Indii, as well as Dylan; and so they can take time off work and take the necessary time to process this.

The details of a funeral or memorial will come soon, as we finalise a plan that we know our mum would want and love.

We know times are tough right now, with cost of living and everything else. But it doesn’t matter how small the donation is, it will help so much, and more than we could ever explain in words.

If you want to celebrate and honour the life of Nicole we ask that you spread kindness. Do something nice for someone, even if they are a complete stranger. I believe our mum is watching over us all, and I know she would find great pride and comfort knowing she left this world a kinder place.
