What are we raising money for?
On the morning of April 25, 2016, Timeshia learned her mom was not feeling well, and then just a few hours later, that her mother had passed away, leaving behind Timeshia and her two younger sisters. The depth of the empty hole left by the passing of a parent and the realization that the person who loved you from the day you were born is gone, is heartbreaking and overwhelming. We are raising this money to help support Timeshia, her sisters, Ebonica and Latonia and her niece, Amira, as they grieve and attempt to move forward as a family.
Who are we?
We are friends who love, and have been blessed by, Timeshia. She has always been a caring friend to us, has taught and tutored our children, and has been a positive influence in all of our lives. We see how passionate she is about teaching, working with children, and how she sets the highest expectations for each of her students. Timeshia knows a child doesn’t grow up in one home and she makes it her business to guide and uplift all those who come around her. And because she has attended to many of our needs, we want to return that support to her during this very difficult time in her own family.
How will the money be used?
This money will be used to support Timeshia and her family as they endeavor to lay their mother to rest and try to move ahead in life without her. All funds will go directly to Timeshia and will be used at her discretion.
Why will this mean so much to her?
Through our own experiences, we know we can support our friends in small, ordinary ways. This is how we hope to show our love to Timeshia; by helping her while she works to meet her family’s needs, just as she has helped us meet the needs of our own families. We can all do something to show up for her in this moment. As a Village, we experience life together, and that includes unselfish loving, honest sharing, practical serving, sacrificial giving and sympathetic comforting.
How thankful will we be?
We would be extremely appreciative of any donation that you are willing to make for Timeshia and her family. No amount is too small! She has not asked for any help, but understanding her family’s circumstances at this time, we believe this will be a very heartfelt gift. We thank you in advance for your kindness, love and generosity.
