Anna and Elena are the duo behind The Opossum’s Tale — a cozy, quirky restaurant born from a love of food, community, soccer, and of course… opossums. What began as a pandemic dream — friends wandering the streets of Jonesborough imagining the perfect pub — became a warm, welcoming spot where community thrives and the comfort foods of a public house are given a southern twist.

Now, The Opossum’s Tale needs your help to take the next step in its story: expanding to a larger space so they can continue growing with the community they love.

Why The Opossum’s Tale Is Expanding

Since opening, Anna and Elena have welcomed guests from around the world, hosted lively football (soccer) tournament watch parties, and earned high praise for their fish and chips (they’ve heard “better than the ones back home” more than once!).

But success has brought some growing pains. There’s no mystery here: they’ve outgrown their home. But renovations and expansion come with real costs. As a small, independent business, Anna and Elena are turning to the people who’ve made this dream possible from the start — YOU!
