The Prestigious Lasse-Maja, Short Film
Doação protegida
Hi there!
We are amidst the final work in post-production for our 10-minute short film, The Prestigious Lasse-Maja. We genuinely believe in this film's potential and hope to see that you would as well. Above, you will find a video which we hope will take you right into the feel of the film.
Synopsis
If you were to walk along the streets of Paris in 1969, what would catch your attention? The beautiful clothes, the concerts, hope or inspiration? Or would you look to see what was bubbling beneath the surface?
If you knew what you were up to and where to look, you could walk down a velvet-clad stairway, past Bertram The Doorman and into the Café Ordiné. Below the bustling city streets, in a dimly lit Jazz Club - Where all the greatest Artists of the time congregate. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of the illustrious Lasse-Maja.
As you can imagine, Café Ordiné holds a strict guestlist. Anyone who is anyone may enter, but your chances are low if you’re a mere mortal. Guy Bonne dreams of The Ordiné. His uttermost ambition is to mix with this underground high society, and he has been trying to get a foot through the door for months. To no avail…
In his nature, he’s a leech. And his aspirations have not gone unnoticed. Lasse-Majas peering eyes have observed this man's obsessive behaviour since his first attempt. In his ridiculousness, she sees something. Something she has been looking for for years. The ultimate model for her masterpiece…
The Film will explore the mind of a creator, the relationship between Artist and Muse and how far one is willing to go to reach the penultimate point of the societal hierarchy.
Christopher Gilliland plays guy Bonne, and Lasse-Maja is played by Tereza Hofova.

Technicalities
The Prestigious Lasse-Maja was shot on Super 16mm with an ARRIFLEX 416 PLUS (Used in Bronson, Black Swan, Die Welle and The Walking Dead) with Zeiss Ultra Prime Lenses. Using Kodak 500T throughout the shooting.
To shoot on film is a dream come true for us in the crew, and we believe that the colourways, intensity and grain will suit the story, period and eccentric characters well. For the non-film nerds reading this, one could summarise it as a Vibe.
Our main ambition is for the film to be seen around the world. Therefore an extensive festival schedule has been planned.
