It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we have established this fundraiser to support the family of our beloved Gabriel Hurtrel, or as many of you may otherwise know him - The French Arborist.

Gab was a deeply loved father, husband, son, brother, and friend to many. His passing was unexpected and has unfolded in unbelievably tragic circumstances, leaving behind his beautiful wife Bec and their two young boys.

As an adored local, Gab was well-known around the Manning Valley and beyond, but Wingham was where he and his family called home.

He was an integral member of the community through his family, work, sport, school and friendships, and his loss is felt far and wide. He lived life vibrantly and had a gift for making every single person he encountered feel seen, valued, and loved, always making time to chat or throw a wave out whenever the opportunity arose.

Irrespective of how well you knew Gab, it was impossible to walk away without experiencing one of his infectious smiles that would resonate long after you had seen him.

Gab was a truly special person whose generosity and positivity touched so many. The outpouring of support from the community has been incredible and our hope for this fundraiser is to give people the opportunity to feel a little less helpless and give Gabriel's family some financial ease during this extremely difficult time.
