The Anaya Newlywed Home Fund

To know them is to love them...

Michael and Katherine Anaya fell in love ten years ago this fall, and they have been blessing the world with their music, romance and absolute knee-slapping fun ever since. The two were supposed to hold their wedding October of last year, but decided to postpone the big party until 2021. Instead, they had an intimate and dreamy ceremony just the two of them, under the sweeping live oak trees in the city they've come to call home: the one and only New Orleans. These two forged ahead with their signature tenacity, teamwork and positive thinking, taking the rest of 2020 and 2021 by storm. At the beginning of the summer, Michael and Katherine learned that the owner of their house would be placing it on the market, and they had one month to clear out of the home they'd shared for the last several years. Never anything short of remarkable, the two kicked it into high gear and closed on their dream home on July 1st.

If you turned on the news even once over the last month, you know where this story is going... Hurricane Ida slammed the gulf coast and left many without water, gas or power for weeks. Thankfully, Katherine and Michael (and Crosby!) were able to evacuate to Katherine's parents house in Florida, but they returned to water damage, collapsed ceilings, and a roof that needs replacing just months after closing on their new home.

The two of us (Brian and Mackenzie) were lucky enough to be included in Katherine and Michael's wedding party next month. Their registry is packed with options like Crosby's Treats Fund, or paying for an outing on their honeymoon, but we thought what these two could really use is a "Necessities/Repairs/Any Dang Thing Your Heart Desires House Fund". We know there were lots of folks out there who have the joy of knowing Michael and Katherine but wouldn't necessarily be heading to New Orleans for their wedding. If you have a few extra dollars to spare, even just $5 or $10 would make a huge impact in getting them back on the right track with their new home. Just remember: this is a SECRET, so mum's the word! These two are always putting smiles on others' faces; it would be wonderful to send those smiles right back.
