On September 1st, 2023 my father Dennis Babiarz was admitted to the hospital with what we thought was just aspiration pneumonia. That was scary enough considering he was already battling brain cancer which caused an already weakened immune system.

One day later, on September 2nd, he was rushed into an emergency surgery that lasted 8.5 hours, resulting in him losing most of his right lung.

He was diagnosed with and treated for esophageal cancer back in 2022, and during the surgery last week they realized there were more tumors in the esophagus and lung that weren’t safe to operate on. There is also a hole caused from the cancer leading from his esophagus to the other part of his lung, which is also inoperable due to the location of the tumors.

Today, September 11th, 2023 we got the worst possible news from his team of doctors. He is entering hopsice and is given days/weeks to live. There is nothing else medically that can be done to enhance his quality of life, so now the goal is to keep him comfortable for as long as he can hold on for.

My parents have both been on disability for majority of my life. Living check to check for the last 15+ years hasn’t allowed them to financially prepare for something as catastrophic as this.

I am making this gofundme to cover funeral costs. If we can raise enough to pay for a burial that is what my father wishes are, but at the very least we would need funds to cover cremation since that is more afford. Thank you in advance for any love and support towards me and my family.
