Hello! LA Neighbors for Neighbors puts on a monthly volunteer-led Resource Center for unhoused neighbors on the Westside of L.A. We take a trauma-informed approach and advocate for housing as a human right. Last month, we raised over $3,000 to purchase tents, canopies, sleeping bags, tarps, blankets and socks, which we distributed to neighbors during our big outreach day on January 15th.
We are NOW raising $2,400 to purchase 20 tents and 40 sleeping bags to distribute to unhoused neighbors across the westside who visit our next Resource Center on February 19, 2022.
More unhoused people die annually of hypothermia in Los Angeles than in New York City and San Francisco combined. There is nowhere near enough interim shelter or long-term housing for the tens of thousands of people suffering on the street. Let's care for one another by providing some form of shelter and warmth in these cold winter months.
Thanks for your support! If you'd like to volunteer for us, go to www.lan4n.org and click "get involved."
