Chris' Charity 3 Peaks 24 hour challenge!

Donation protected
Every 3 years Dell Technologies in the UK takes part in a challenge to benefit one of our key charity partners; this year, we’ll be raising money for The Talent Foundry.

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours.

The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - The total driving distance is 462 miles - this WILL be completed in under 24 hours!

It’s a fantastic challenge I can’t wait to make; with the added benefit, I'll be raising money for such a great cause!

The Talent Foundry are one of Dell Technologies key UK charity partners; we work with over 100+ volunteers and reach over 10,000 students per year. Running national programs aimed at students between the ages 11-14 to encourage their interest in technology, whilst also offering mentoring schemes to older students as they navigate the pressures of leaving education and make their way into the workplace.

If you want to support, please feel free to give any amount you can – it’s all greatly appreciated.

The Talent Foundry’s mission is to increase social mobility by helping young people from underserved communities discover what they are amazing at, develop valuable new employment skills and take that first step into the world of work. The Talent Foundry do this because parental income remains the single strongest indicator of educational attainment in the UK.

Your support and donation will help us level the playing field of opportunity so every child can achieve their full potential, regardless of their socio-economic background.

The effect of the pandemic was felt the hardest in the communities we work in. Covid wiped out a decade of progress in improving social mobility. You are still 60% more likely to be in a professional job if you are from a privileged background rather than a working-class background.

Your donation can help us to change this for talented young people in the UK.

£1,100 – could help a young person take part in our pre-apprenticeship programme – giving them access to workshops and coaching to start their journey towards a rewarding career.

£250 – could support 10 young people develop teamwork and problem-solving skills through one of our facilitated employability workshops

£27 – could support a young person work with a mentor to build their confidence in writing their CV or interview practice to apply for further education or employment.

£6 – could pay for a young person’s lunch during one of our insight days or work experience weeks; something many of those we work with cannot afford to do.
