Lakia is a single mother of two great kids that lost everything to the recent flooding in Fort Smith. As members from Team Rubicon began removing drywall they exposed tons of mold and rotted studs and floor joists. They saw a need for much more. So I want to bring the community together for a civic project to rebuild a safe home for her and her kids. Anything helps. Info for our donors and potential donors:
My name is Daren, I am managing this campaign with a volunteer from Team Rubicon. I work with another nonprofit in the area, Gap Relief. Typically our goal is to provide services to high capacity community leaders, however we saw a true need to step in and help out through our work with Team Rubicon. I volunteered at her home with Team Rubicon. I have not known Lakia prior to this, but just saw someone in need. The funds from this go fund me will all go towards building Lakia and her two wonderful kids a new home, furniture, etc. They lost everything to the flood. We have other community businesses stepping up with service and supply donations. We greatly appreciate that and if anyone feels they could better donate that way, please reach out to me at [email redacted]. Once we have determined what funds are needed we will move the funds into a nonprofit account and distribute them for supplies and/or services.
