My best friend, Drew Holland, has been at the hospital with her son, Owen, for three months now with no discharge date planned at the moment. Owen was born with Down syndrome and congenital heart defects. He finally had his open heart surgery the morning of March 29th. The surgery was successful, but he has experienced some heart block post surgery. They are now waiting to see if he will need a pacemaker as well, which would require another surgery. While having to travel back and forth from Orange Beach to Birmingham, Drew Holland and Camden have been focusing all their energy and time on taking care of Owen and trying to make everything as normal as possible for their other son, Beckham back at home. Drew and Camden are incredible parents and are so deserving of help even if it's hard for them to advocate for that for themselves. I know a lot of people have reached out to them asking for ways to help and for a way to contribute financially so I just wanted to create a space for that. As you can imagine they have a lot of medical bills adding up day by day on top of their regular everyday financial responsibilities. All they should have to focus on right now is helping Owen get healthy so they can all be home together as a family again.
