Surgical Mission Trip to Ghana - October 2024

Hello! My name is Brian Pettitt, and I am a Plastic Surgery resident at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. This fall, I will be returning to Techiman, Ghana with Operation International, a non-profit that organizes surgical mission trips around the world, in their week-long trip to Holy Family Hospital. Last year, we performed almost 100 surgeries, including 22 reconstructive surgeries to correct cleft palates, congenital limb deformities, and burn scar contractures. I am incredibly excited to have been invited back this year to operate under the supervision of Dr. Carlos Mata, a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in Scottsdale, Arizona who has many years of experience working abroad.

The organization has again requested that I start a GoFundMe to assist with all of the overhead that goes into this trip - purchasing and transporting supplies, renting Operating Room time, paying for our room & board. Any amount that you can contribute will go directly to the organization and would be an enormous help.
