Cancer Survivor’s Husband Dies during IVF Journey

Donation protected
My dear friend, Kate, has faced a years-long battle that most could not imagine. She has endured pain, tears, surgery, financial struggle, insurance loss, job loss, and health struggles, including an Ovarian cancer diagnosis and infertility. She and I endured the difficult road of 6 months of chemotherapy together. Throughout Kate's cancer journey, her loving husband, John was by her side every step of the way. He was a constant support for her during chemo; attending every appointment, and ensuring that she had dry ice for her cold caps at every appointment! He was truly her rock.

Sadly, Kate's ovarian cancer diagnosis made creating a family extremely difficult for her and John. After she was cleared of ovarian cancer, she and John jumped into their next journey, IVF. Throughout IVF, Kate and John had to endure constant disappointing news. They experienced feelings of loss, sadness, and defeat as they fought as hard as they could through this heartbreaking experience to become parents. Her IVF rounds were cancelled multiple times, but John continued to be right by Kate's side through medicine, shots, and more medical appointments. The financial burden of IVF was, and continues to be, overwhelming for Kate.

On February 1, 2021, Kate faced the most horrific day of her life. Her husband died suddenly only a little more than one year after their wedding. It is unimaginable that Kate's husband was taken from her after battling ovarian cancer and infertility.

Kate needs our financial support now more than ever. She is still dealing with the side effects of chemo, and she will also be dealing with scans of her body for the rest of her life to make sure that if her cancer ever returns, that it is detected early. She is now also facing the possibility that she may not be able to have the biological child that she has always dreamed of. Mourning the loss of her husband when she does not have a job, will not receive life insurance payment, and may lose her home is too much for one person. The weight of the last two years is too much for anyone to carry, and the financial burden that these tragedies have caused feels insurmountable to Kate.

Until Kate is able to recover from these experiences, she needs our help. If you are able, please help my friend Kate while she mourns the horrific and tragic loss of her husband, John. No amount is too little. I desperately want Kate to be able to remain in her home so that she can get back on her feet. Kate is a wonderful daughter and friend to so many. Please help me show Kate how much we love and support during this time and share this GoFundME with as many people as you can. We want to enable Kate to take the time to grieve for John, and to continue to recover from the effects of chemo and IVF.

Thank you all in advance for helping my friend!
