On August 6, our beloved coworker and friend, Zsuzsanna Carlson, experienced an unimaginable loss. Her husband of only three months, Rocco Della Serra, tragically passed away after being involved in a hit-and-run accident while riding his bicycle. Rocco was an adventurous, active person who loved life. He enjoyed hiking, staying active, exploring, and living life to the fullest. His life was taken far too suddenly, leaving behind Zsuzsanna and Rocco’s children, who are now facing the devastating loss of their husband, father, and loved one.

Zsuzsanna and Rocco had only been married for three months, but they were looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together. They had plans, dreams, and a future they were building side by side. In an instant, all of that was tragically changed. Anyone who knows Zsuzsanna knows the kind of person she is. Zsuzsanna is one of the most selfless and giving people you could ever meet. She would quite literally take the shirt off her back and give it to someone who needed it. Zsuzsanna has never hesitated to show up for the people around her, and now Zsuzsanna is the one who needs people to show up.

Right now, Zsuzsanna is trying to navigate an unimaginable loss while also facing the overwhelming responsibilities that come with an unexpected death. Funds raised will help with funeral and burial expenses, immediate financial needs, and the many unexpected costs that come with putting their affairs in order, allowing Zsuzsanna and the family the time and space they need to grieve.
