August 4, 2026 is a day that will forever stick with me because it was the day the love of my life was taken from me. I met my wife accidentally from a chatting app much like yahoo chat. Since I was a young man I always wanted to reach people from other countries to learn from them whether it was knowing about their cultures, what their favorite foods were, their faith, and even their upbringing. One day while chatting with multiple people I met Yating. We suddenly hit it off but I was reluctant because catfishing was so popular around that time. As the weeks went by we talked more and more until she asked me one day what if I came to the United States to meet you? I was excited but also nervous because I thought to myself why would someone fly 28 hrs across the world to see me if she wasn’t certain that I was the guy for her. Fast forward to 2018 and I get a message saying I bought my ticket. Of course you ask yourself a million questions like, what if she flys all the way here and it’s awkward or she doesn’t like me. From the moment we met each other we fell in inseparable love. YaTing is the woman God sent here for me. Fast forward to December of 2024 and I had a ring because I knew in my heart that she is who I am supposed to be with. We get married Feb of 2025. It was the greatest day of my life knowing that I married my person. We immediately start her petitions I-130 and I-485 for alien petition, and Work petition. Before getting lawyers involved, we watched a lot of YouTube on how to do the paperwork ourselves and unfortunately, I missed one question on the I-130 and our I-485 was completed incorrectly. So we decided that a lawyer would be our best bet. Unfortunately, life happened and I being the only income earner in the house was hit with hurdle after hurdle. My wife actively started looking for how she can help me financially and pay for our lawyer fees for her paperwork. She got a job working Asian food festivals and we thought to ourselves. We’re finally going to get this right. Then August 8, 2026 happened. My wife coming back from a festival in Portland with the exact amount of money needed for our lawyer was detained after she got off of the plane. We managed to get enough money for a lawyer, but we have since exhausted all of our money. I am asking for help because my wife is $12,000 away from her freedom and I have no idea how I’m going to deliver on getting my wife released. Yating is one of the strongest women I’ve ever met in my life, but I feel every time I speak with her on the phone, A little bit of her is dying every day and I am powerless to help. I just want her free.I just want my person back. Anything helps. Thank you.
