Hello, my name is Ingrid. I am a single mom who had to make a decision of paying the electricity bill or paying to have my 2009 minivan timing belt replaced. I do have a full-time job. In my 17 years providing for my children, I have never encountered this problem. Since June, when I had to take my van in for repairs, I have been reaching out to churches, programs, my kids' schools, and public assistance, and I always get the same answers: "We have no money." I don't know if that is how they do things to send people away, or if they really have no money. I hate doing this because I know times are difficult for everyone in middle and lower-class America. I just hope to stabilize myself again and pay it forward. My car needs additional repairs, but I can just continue adding the steering wheel fluid when it goes below the mark .
