Recently, two of our closest friends had the happiest day of their life when they got married. One of the other happiest days of their lives was when they brought their corgi puppy, Basil, home. For the last three years, Basil has been the center of their world. She was even their “something blue” in their wedding, and their wedding-favor cookies were adorned with her adorable face. Tragically, Basil’s life was cut short soon after what should have been a time to celebrate their new marital bliss. After multiple surgeries to try to save Basil from a bowel obstruction, Thomas and Lindsey had to say goodbye to their baby. Nothing will take away the sadness of their loss, but we hate to think of the additional burden they’re facing from all of the vet bills. We’re hoping that people who know and love them-and know how much they loved Basil- could pitch in to support them. We have set a large goal, but that doesn’t cover what they spent trying to save her life. Truly any little bit helps. We are keeping this a secret from them for now, as we know they’ll hate the idea of us doing this. We also know that they will be moved by the support and generosity from all of us, though. Thank you for whatever you can contribute, and be sure to hold your fur babies a little closer.
