Support the Kincaid family after COVID
Donation protected
First, thank you all for your prayers for Kurtis and his family. They are very much appreciated and our main request is for your continued prayer for the Kincaid family. We ask that you would continue to pray for the Lord to show His mercy to their family and that Kurtis (and Amy) would make a full recovery from COVID.
What happened:
On Wednesday April 14, Kurtis was diagnosed with double pneumonia and COVID. On April 17th he was taken to Marion General Hospital as he began having difficulty breathing on his own. Upon arrival at the hospital, they found his lungs were full of fluid and his 02 saturations were below 60.
Praise the Lord, the hospital was able to stabilize his oxygen levels but he needed 11L of high-flow 02. They then started treatment to remove the fluid from his lungs and removed over 1400ml of fluid. He was also given antiviral meds to help his body fight off COVID.
Praise the Lord on 4/19 he was down to 9L high-flow 02/min, then on 4/20 he was able to be downgraded to regular 02 and was able keep his oxygen saturations above 90 on just 3L of regular oxygen. As his condition was stable, he was sent home on 4/21.
We are so thankful Kurtis was able to come home but he still has a long recovery process in the coming weeks. The doctor expects it will take about a month for Kurtis to make a full recovery from his ordeal. During this time, he will be unable to work and provide for his family.
We suspect his hospital stay will leave them with medical bills to pay for his treatment but we are uncertain at this time how high they will be. We estimate Amy and Kurtis may be responsible for about $65,000.
The medical bills, combined with the extensive time for his recovery while Kurtis is unable to work, will place a financial strain on their family.
This fund will be used to alleviate the financial strain placed on their family from medical bills and to help cover their living expenses while Kurtis is recovering. In order to do this, we are hoping to raise about $75,000 to support their family financially during this time.
Thank you again for all your prayers and support during this time, they are very much appreciated by our entire family.
