Support the Grantham Family After the Loss of Brian to ALS

Donation protected
Brian Grantham passed away on November 30, 2025, after a 2-year battle with ALS. During the final months of his battle with this awful disease, Brian demonstrated extraordinary courage and grace. He never grew angry at the disease that was robbing him of so much. Instead, he remained hopeful — constantly researching new studies, emerging treatments, and any possible breakthrough that might offer a path toward a cure. His determination, optimism, and refusal to sink into despair were reflections of the man he was: strong, thoughtful, and deeply committed to his family.

Brian continued working long past the point most ALS patients can, driven by his desire to keep providing for the people he loved. Brian’s courage, his dedication to his family, and the quiet way he faced an unimaginable diagnosis will never be forgotten.

With Brian gone, Kate is now facing a very different life. She is stepping into the role of a single mother caring for Sarah, who was born disabled. At the same time, she is doing everything she can to support Kevin as he continues his college education at the Florida Institute of Technology, pursuing Brian’s and his dream of aviation. Balancing work, caregiving, household responsibilities, and the financial strain that comes with all of it is an enormous challenge, and she is doing it without her partner.

Brian and Kate met 35 years ago and built a strong and loving family. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2025, a milestone that reflected decades of shared dreams, challenges, and devotion.

Brian was an aviation enthusiast through and through — a private pilot who found joy in every moment spent around airplanes. He was also a lifelong lover of technology. Over more than 20 years in the IT field, Brian worked for multiple companies, where he consistently strengthened and improved their technology infrastructure. His colleagues knew him as someone who made a meaningful impact everywhere he went, always offering solutions, stability, humor, and a calm presence.

But above all else, Brian was a devoted husband and father. He cherished his son Kevin and took immense pride in his achievements, especially Kevin’s own passion for aviation. He encouraged Kevin’s dreams, supported his education at the Florida Institute of Technology, and celebrated every milestone along the way. Brian was equally devoted to his daughter Sarah, who was born with complex medical and developmental needs, always felt loved, safe, and supported. His patience, gentleness, and quiet strength were constants in Sarah’s life.

Kate has always been a source of light and strength for so many people, and in the wake of Brian’s passing, countless friends, coworkers, and loved ones have asked how they can help. This fund is a way to wrap her in the same support she has given others for decades — a way to ease some of the overwhelming weight she now carries as she faces a future without Brian. Every bit of support gives her not just peace of mind, but a reminder that she is not walking this road alone.
