My name is Renee and I've been friends with the Deslatte family since our kids went to pre-school together. It is my honor to be here for them to navigate the loss of Kael, who passed away on November 6. He is survived by his sibling Sage, mother Cari, father Darrick and his loving grandparents and extended family.

In his 19 short years with us, Kael Deslatte brought unimaginable joy to everyone around him. From his family to his neighbors in Clarke Farms, from his Chaparral High School friends and teachers to his Western State University community, and his South Metro Fire Rescue Explorer classmates to the Western Mountain Rescue Team in Gunnison… his time with each of us was significant. Always quick with a joke, Kael was smart and witty beyond his years. Perhaps his best quality, though, was his effortless dedication to making others feel safe, cared for, important, and heard. Kael's hugs were extra tight, and he would light up a room with just his smile. Stories are pouring in that Kael provided a safe place for many kids just like him.

Your donations will help cover costs of the services and any extra funds will be donated to the Parker Task Force, a cause near and dear to Kael's heart.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 21 at 2PM at the Parker PACE Center (20000 Pikes Peak Avenue) with a reception to follow. We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food to donate to the Parker Task Force in Kael's honor.
