The Davis family has been a cornerstone of the Greenbelt community for over 13 years — offering their hearts, hands, and time to help others. Now, they are facing a difficult season of hardship due to ongoing health issues and significant life changes, and it's our turn to give back to those who have given so much.

Mr. Davis, a proud retired veteran who served our country, and Mrs. Carolyn Lambright-Davis, a dedicated community advocate and educator, have spent years uplifting those around them. From mentoring youth to leading environmental initiatives, their impact runs deep throughout Greenbelt and beyond.

Mrs. Davis has been a tireless volunteer with several local organizations, including the Chesapeake Education, Arts and Research Society (CHEARS), where she led the Earth Squad — an after-school program teaching students the importance of caring for the planet. She's taught Sunday school to 2nd and 3rd graders at Eastern Community Church in Landover and worked on the church's environmental team. Her passion for nurturing young minds and protecting the environment is evident in everything she does.

The Davis family has also played active roles in local events such as National Night Out, community concerts, free summer movie nights at Academy 8, holiday craft workshops, and even back-to-school fashion shows. They have used these events as meaningful opportunities to take groups of students on free, fun, and enriching outings. They even helped start a community garden in their apartment complex.

Before her active volunteer work, Mrs. Davis served as a life-skills instructor for 3rd to 5th graders in Prince George’s County Schools, helping children build confidence, resilience, and practical skills. In recognition of her outstanding community service, she was honored with the Deacon John W. Gadson III Service Award by Former Councilman Rick Gordon in July 2022.

Despite their tireless efforts for others, the Davis family is now in need. The financial challenges they’re facing have deeply impacted their day-to-day lives, and your support can make all the difference.
