Support the Adams Family in Medical and Financial Needs

Donation protected
Most of you know our family as Tatting Corner (or The Craft Corner, if you're local to us). Many of you have followed our medical journey (read that as "nightmare"!) throughout the last several years. We were so hoping that 2025 would bring us better things, since 2024 had been so horribly awful (husband being diagnosed with end stage renal disease, me breaking my shoulder, and my brother-in-law having a mental break and ending up with guardianship of him), but apparently that was not to be.

Chuck has been in and out of the hospital since October 2024, the first few stays of which severely depleted our emergency funds. On January 11, 2025, he was admitted and finally diagnosed with clostridium difficile, a horribly debilitating intestinal infection that was also contributing to a lot of fluid overload in his body. We suspect he had it in 2024 as well but it just wasn't found during those stays. He was released after about 5 days, but within 24 hours he could no longer breathe and we took him back on January 17. He's been in the hospital ever since and things are slowly starting to get better, but since he's been ill so long there's not any strength left in his body and he's going to have to go to inpatient rehabilitation at a local nursing home.

We have filed sick leave paperwork, but the doctor didn't provide all of the information needed by the short term disability company, and now we don't know when his sick leave pay will be coming in - and even when it does, it's less than 67% of his normal salary, minus taxes and insurance, which is not enough to meet our financial obligations. In addition, our out of pocket maximum for our insurance to take over and pay 100% has increased to $7500 per person in our family this year. We don't know how long he will be off work at this point.

If you can help, we would absolutely appreciate it. Even sharing this fundraiser will help.
