Help the Ungard Family Rebuild After the Fire
Donation protected
On Sunday, July 6th, a fire tore through my sister’s home in Montoursville, PA. While the flames didn’t completely destroy the house, the damage is extensive. Smoke and soot spread through every room, insulation had to be ripped out, and the entire interior will likely need to be gutted. It’s unsafe and unlivable. They will be displaced for the foreseeable future.
Most importantly, my sister, her husband, and their 22 month-old son are safe. But they lost so much: their home, their peace of mind, and most of their belongings—clothes, crib, furniture, toys, comfort items, and more.
They are working with insurance and SERVPRO, but recovery will be complicated, slow, and full of unknowns. There are so many costs that insurance doesn’t cover—or won’t cover right away.
We’re raising funds to help them bridge the gap and take care of their basic needs while they work to rebuild their life:
• Temporary housing needs, meals, and essentials
• Replacing toddler necessities (clothes, diapers, toys, crib)
• Day-to-day costs while they’re displaced
• Replacing smoke-damaged furniture, bedding, and more
Even a small gift will go a long way. If you’re not in a position to give, please consider sharing this with others. If you'd prefer to help with meals instead of donating, we've also created a Meal Train: Visit MealTrain.com and search for "Ungard Family," or find the link in the "Updates" section below.
Every donation is a step closer to stability, safety, and hope for this sweet family.
