Help a Brave Mom and Combat Veteran Rebuild After Abuse
Hi, my name is Myrtis, and I’m reaching out on behalf of someone I care deeply about—my friend Tarra Williams, a combat veteran and devoted mother of four boys. She’s in the final, most difficult stage of a painful divorce from an emotionally and financially abusive partner, and she urgently needs help to get through this last stretch.
Despite everything she’s endured, Tarra has continued to fight for her children’s safety, emotional well-being, and future. But right now, she’s at a breaking point. The financial abuse and control she’s experienced have left her struggling to meet even the most basic needs.
Just this week, her electricity was shut off. She couldn’t even get her car out of the garage and had to Uber to a court-appointed appointment—ironically arranged by her ex’s attorney, who’s trying to paint her as “deliberately underemployed.” Thanks to her mom and a generous local church, the power is back on, but the situation is still dire.
She’s behind on legal fees, can’t afford groceries or diapers for her 2-year-old, and her older boys (13 and 10) have outgrown their clothes. Even her emotional support animal, Beau, is overdue for vet care—and she’s almost out of food for him too.
What she needs now is temporary support—help to cover legal costs, food, and daily essentials while she continues this battle for a life free of abuse. Her ultimate goal is to return to school and pursue a Master’s in Sociology. She was working toward a second bachelor’s degree before the trauma of this relationship forced her to put everything on hold. Now, she’s determined to go further and build a future where she and her boys can truly thrive.
This divorce hasn’t just drained her financially—it’s impacted her family deeply. Her oldest son, now an adult, has chosen to cut contact because of the abuse he experienced from her ex. That pain weighs heavily on her every day, and she is more committed than ever to breaking this cycle—for herself and for her children.

Whether it’s $5 or a share, every act of that kindness brings this family closer to safety, stability, and healing. Thank you for helping this brave woman reclaim her life.
