For the last four years, I have been following and photographing the Montgomery Pass Wild Horse Herd in the Eastern Sierras. These horses changed my life. I began to see how closely connected they are to the land and to each other. They live in large family bands, protect one another from predators, and settle conflict quickly. Watching them has shown me that we as humans would benefit a great deal from the harmonious way wild horses live together -- their cooperation, awareness, communication, and deep sense of community.

Sweet Home Wild Horses was created because hundreds of these horses are now facing roundup and permanent removal.

Our nonprofit was founded to help find good adoptive homes and sanctuary placement for wild horses who might be removed from the range.

We are a brand new grassroots nonprofit just getting started. Donations will help us prepare for placement and support of wild horses impacted by roundup operations, connect horses with adopters and sanctuaries, and begin building the foundation for a future wild horse sanctuary.

Every contribution helps us take another step toward protecting these horses and giving them a safe future.
